AICHELIN Milestones

1868. 

Jacob Aichelin founds a stove factory in Stuttgart. The company name AICHELIN is born.

1900. 

Construction of the first coke and coal furnace for the heat treatment of steel sheets.

1924. 

AICHELIN sets new standards with the construction of the first furnace under gas atmosphere.

1952. 

Heat treatment furnaces are being adapted to the requirements of the emerging mass production during the “Economic miracle” period in Europe.

1960. 

Establishment of a production site in Austria. Austria site supplies Eastern Europe and Asia. The Korntal works (Germany) is responsible for Western Europe, America, Africa, and Australia. Subsequently: Reinforcement of internationalization.

1986.

Opening of a sales office in China.

1992. 

Foundation of NOXMAT. Now leading manufacturer of industrial burner systems.

1997. 

The international Berndorf AG becomes majority owner.

2000. 

Acquisition of EMA, a successfully growing company specializing in induction heating systems.

2004. 

The production of AICHELIN furnace plants is moved to Austria.

2007.

Expansion of production sites in China.
The company SAFED, founded in 1932 with sites in Switzerland and France, becomes part of AICHELIN Group.

2008. 

Separation of operational group management tasks due to company growth. Founding of AICHELIN Holding with headquarters in Mödling (Austria).

2010.

Establishment of the Austrian-Indian joint venture AICHELIN-Unitherm with headquarters in Pune.

2012. 

The Slovenian furnace manufacturer Bosio, with high-level expertise in Central and Eastern Europe, joins AICHELIN Group.

2016. 

AFC-Holcroft, a renowned company for industrial furnaces with headquarters in the US, becomes part of AICHELIN Group. AICHELIN Group extends its position as a global provider.

2018.

AICHELIN’s 150-year anniversary

2022.

Opening of the AICHELIN Assembly Center Europe as a joint assembly plant for the AICHELIN, SAFED, and BOSIO brands as well as for the plants of European customers of AFC-Holcroft.

At the same time, the product range in the industrial furnace segment is expanded to the battery industry with kilns. 

NOXMAT expands its portfolio to include project planning and manufacturing of control cabinets, thus becoming an all-round solution provider for industrial thermal processing systems.

2023.

NOXMAT enters the aluminum industry and takes over the exclusive rights for producing and distributing Wiedemann industrial burners.
