Flexible heat treatment for different processes

The mesh belt furnaces of the BD series from Safed are modular in design and designed for a wide range of applications. Depending on the configuration, both processes under protective gas and heat treatments in air can be realized. The modular furnace technology allows adaptation to different component geometries, throughput requirements and temperature ranges.

Additional technical features

  • Gas-tight muffle (type BD) for defined atmosphere, reduced gas consumption and stable process conditions

  • Available in type BdC (muffle-less system with protective gas), type BdL (system without protective gas), type BdLT (system without protective gas with subsequent water/polymer quenching)

  • Electric or gas-heated design with high-speed or radiant tube burners

  • Multi-zone temperature control for precise process control and high repeatability

  • Cooling modules with water jacket, rapid cooling or gas quenching to reduce process times

  • Optional equipment with gas circulation systems, independent muffle gas flow, automatic loading and FOCOS 4.0 process control system

FAQ – Safed mesh belt furnace systems type BD
Safed mesh belt furnaces of the BD series are modular furnace systems for continuous heat treatment with or without protective gas and are available as BD, BDC, BDL and BDLT.
With Safed mesh belt furnaces of the BD series, processes such as annealing, bright annealing, brazing, sintering and bluing can be carried out under protective gas or air.
Safed mesh belt furnaces of the BD series are available in electrically or gas-heated versions and use NOXMAT® recuperator burners for high energy efficiency.
Cooling in Safed mesh belt furnaces of the BD series is carried out depending on the process via water jacket, rapid cooling or gas quenching with heat exchangers and fans.
Safed mesh belt furnaces of the BD series are available with belt widths from 80 to 1400 mm as standard and special designs up to 2000 mm, covering temperature ranges from 150 to 1150 °C.
Process control in the Safed mesh belt furnace type BD is carried out via a PLC-based system with C-level control, gas circulation systems and oxygen probes for process monitoring. Monitoring and storage of process data can optionally be performed via the FOCOS 4.0 process control system with analysis and reporting functions.
Safed mesh belt furnaces of the BD series enable loading of bulk material or oriented components via hopper, weighing and vibration systems with automatic feeding.
