Industrial Furnace Specialist BOSIO Supplies Automaker Škoda

The Slovenian AICHELIN subsidiary is strengthening its position in the automotive sector

Mödling/Celje – The Slovenian industrial furnace producer BOSIO has received an order from world-renowned Škoda, further strengthening its position as a reliable partner of the European automotive industry. The first order from Škoda includes a roller hearth furnace plant for isothermal annealing of forged engine parts.

Škoda sells more than one million vehicles annually, making it one of the world's best-selling automakers. "We are delighted that we were able to expand our customer base with such an important company, which – just like BOSIO – is focused on providing the highest quality and innovation, thus setting industry standards," says BOSIO founder and CEO Hugo Bosio.

The main plant in operation starting November
The plant was already delivered to the Škoda headquarters in the Czech city of Mlada Boleslav, where it will be put into operation in November. The roller hearth furnace has a capacity of one ton per hour. The heat treatment section is 45 meters long and consists of a gas-heated chamber for maximum temperatures of up to 1000 degrees Celsius, an electrically heated chamber, a cooling chamber, and an air cooling station. The plant is fed with batch baskets, whose weight and speed are automatically controlled.

Together with AICHELIN
As a subsidiary of the Austrian parent company AICHELIN, BOSIO benefits from synergies and the exchange of valuable know-how. The furnace plant for Škoda was designed and produced together with the heat treatment experts of the AICHELIN Group. Business developer Andreas Janich adds: "As a manufacturer of heat treatment plants in Europe, USA, and Asia, AICHELIN is focused primarily on reliability, energy efficiency, and technology.
